Welcome to Goppa Tree.
Thank you for joining me on my journey to learning the art of woodturning. There are many experts online who are willing to share their knowledge with you. While I am not yet an expert, I would like to share with you my adventures (and mishaps) during the learning process.
What is a Goppa Tree?
I'm glad you asked. Well, it's not a "what." It's a "who." My father's name is Gregory. When he was younger, his baby brothers had trouble saying "Gregory." It came out as "Goppa Tree." Our cousin, Mark, started using it as his nickname, and it stuck. Every time we see our cousins at family picnics, you can hear Mark shout "Hey GOPPA!" clear across the park. They even started calling me "Goppa Jr." because I'm named after him- a fact I'm rather proud of. So when it came time to put a name to this endeavor, Goppa Tree just felt right.
